Before i formed you in the womb, I knew you...(jeremiah 1:4-5).The word of God in the book of jeremiah came to fulfillment in the life of Mrs Regina Onyimadu. Born into Onwuzuruigbo family of Umuohuanya village in Amamputu Uli in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State in the year 1897. she was the first of eight children. She married late Chief Theophilus Onyejiukwa Onyimadu(Nwamarariaku)and they exchanged marital vows (wedded) in 1933. She devoted herself completely to the service of God. She was a pioneer member of Christian Mothers Association. She participated fully in all Catholic women affairs including attending C.W.O meetings at Holy Trinity Cathedral Onitsha. She provided money from her purse for most contributions made at the meetings. Nneora is ready to make any sacrifice that will benefit her fellow catholic women and the church in general. She was a woman of substance who believed that you must think and work hard before reaping the benefits,Alongside being a totally devoted wife and mother of three children, She was industrious and an able enterpreneur who engaged actively in a variety of businesses like baking oranekwurum bread, partaking in oil business at oseakwa and trading on food stuffs. She belonged to Ezinne social club, She was a unifying factor amongst all women she met. She was the treasurer of the C.W.O. and a devoted leader and organizer. It is her industry and devotion that earned her the title "NNEORA" She was the patroness of C.W.O parish choir and Abuoma society till the day she slept in the Lord in 2012.Decades after the passing away of your well respected husband Chief Theo Onyimadu, the support and genrosity you both showed on your fellow humans are still evident today. Your initiative mearnt a lot and helps achieve a lot. Your peaceful intervention helped get many families through trying times, teaching women to respect their husbands and husbands to be loyal to their wives. You strongly believed in the fact that God is always above all things- visible and invisible. You taught us that with God we should never fear anything. You feared no one, you stood for the truth always, you always quoted to us that "truth is life(eziokwu bu ndu)" Even now, we still hear you saying it.You held us together giving us love. You believed in education for all children and supported a lot of children. You taught us to always thank God for his mercies. On 26th May 2012, The Ihiala Deanery C.W.O honoured you as the oldest living wedded Catholic woman in Ihiala Deanery. We Love you and we all miss you.
